Wedding Guidelines in Delhi

  • Delhi has a complete lockdown barring essential services till May 10, but weddings are allowed with prior permission that includes an e-pass.

  • For movement of persons for marriage-related gatherings up to 50 persons will be allowed on production of “soft/hard copy” of invitation cards.
  • As fas as new wedding guidelines during COVID are concerned, weddings can be held with a gathering of only 50 people, passes will be issued separately for it. More details here.

Wedding Guidelines for Mumbai & Maharashtra

  • Curfew from 7 AM to 8 PM till May 15, 2021.
  • The marriage ceremony may be conducted only as a single event in a single hall not extending beyond 2 hours with maximum of total 25 persons attending the same. Any family seen to be flouting the restraints or not following these in letter and spirit may be fined Rs 50000/-, and any location that is misused or is defaulting in spirit of the restrictions shall be closed till promulgation of Covid-19 as a disaster remains in force.

  • To prevent the large gatherings, section 144 of CrPC has been put in place throughout the state, which means a gathering or movement of more than 5 people isn't permitted in public. 

  • All establishments, public places, and services will remain closed unless those in the essential services category.

Wedding Guidelines for Bangalore & Karnataka 

  • The government has imposed a 14-day lockdown across the state from April 27 till May 9, 2021. 
  • The state government on Tuesday stated that marriages are permitted
  • but must be carried out by strictly adhering to Covid-appropriate behaviour (CAB) with a maximum of 50 people including vendors at the event.
  • In Mangalore, guests attending weddings must carry a hard copy of the invite, an ID proof and a soft copy of the permission letter from the local body during the weekend curfew. 

Wedding Guidelines for Kerala

  • Daily night curfew from 9 PM to 5 AM, and a lockdown from May 4 to May 9, 2021.
  • Weddings can be held with not more than 75 people inside a hall and a maximum of 150 people in open spaces.

  • Details of public functions, including ceremonies like marriage and house warming, should be registered on the 'COVID-19 jagratha portal' in advance.
  • Those attending weddings should carry an identification document and the wedding invitation as well. The CM urged people to avoid long-distance travel. However, travel exemptions will be given for purposes such as wedding and such travellers should carry self declaration form citing the purpose of travel.

Wedding Guidelines for Punjab

  • There is a daily night curfew in effect from 6 PM to 5 AM. 

  • The maximum number of people allowed in a gathering is capped at 10 currently.

Wedding Guidelines for Chandigarh

  • There is a daily night curfew in effect from 6 PM to 5 AM, indefinitely implemented for now.

  • Only 50 people will be allowed in wedding celebrations. Marriages are to be conducted with prior permission from Sub Divisional Magistrate concerned.

Wedding Guidelines for Gujarat

  • There is a daily night curfew in effect from 8 PM to 6 AM across 20 cities in the state, which is currently implemented till May 5, 2021.

  • The maximum number of people allowed in a gathering is capped at 50 currently.

Wedding Guidelines for Rajasthan

  • The maximum number of people allowed at a wedding ceremony is currently capped at 31.

  • Those entering Rajasthan will have to show a negative RT-PCR report issued 72 hours prior to the travel.

  • Marriage functions allowed for maximum 3 hours. The time limit will be applicable to wedding feast only, not other rituals and religious customs. 

  • The wedding processions will be allowed to visit from one district to another. A copy of the information sent to the local SDM for the wedding ceremony will need to be shown to the police when asked.

Wedding Guidelines for Haryana

  • The maximum number of people allowed at a wedding ceremony is currently capped at 50 for outdoors and 30 for indoors.

  • All marriage functions which have taken prior permission from the concerned District Magistrates or officers authorised by them, shall be allowed subject to the limit of a maximum 50 per cent of the hall capacity. 

Wedding Guidelines for Uttar Pradesh

  • Night curfew everyday from 8 PM to 7 AM till May 15, 2021.
  • Weddings on Saturday and Sunday will be held with only 50 guests inside closed spaces and 100 guests in open spaces with face masks, social distancing and use of sanitizers.

Wedding Guidelines for Uttarakhand

  • Night curfew from 9 PM to 5 AM.
  • The maximum number of people allowed at a wedding ceremony is currently capped at 25.
  • There are to be no gatherings in containment zones. 

Wedding Guidelines for Himachal Pradesh

  • Complete ban on dham (community feast) at weddings and other celebrations till May 20. 

Wedding Guidelines for Madhya Pradesh

  • The maximum number of people allowed in a gathering is currently capped at 50.

  • There is to be a complete lockdown in Indore on Sundays.

Wedding Guidelines For Tamil Nadu

  • Night curfew from 10 PM to 4 AM.

  • Complete lockdown on Sundays, Inter-state & intra-state transport not allowed during night curfew.
  • Weddings can be conducted with a maximum of 50 guests.

  • There will be no relaxations in containment zones and they will be under total lockdown.

Wedding Guidelines for Andhra Pradesh

  • Weddings can be conducted with a maximum of 50 guests.

Wedding Guidelines for Telangana

  • Night curfew is in order from 9 PM to 5 AM till May 8, 2021.

Wedding Guidelines for Bihar

  • Weddings can be conducted with a maximum of 50 guests.

  • Night curfew is in order from 6 PM to 6 AM till May 15, 2021.

Wedding Guidelines for Jharkand 

  • Weddings can be conducted with a maximum of 50 guests.

Wedding Guidelines for Chhattisgarh

  • There is a daily night curfew in effect from 9 PM to 6 AM till May 5, 2021 as of now.

  • Lockdown in Raipur, Balod, Mahasamund, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Dhamtari, Korba, Bemetra, Jashpur, Surajpur, Surguja, Balrampur, Kanker and Kondagaon districts

Wedding Guidelines for Odisha

  • There is a limit of 50 people to attend a wedding till May 19, 2021.

  • Marriages shall be permitted with approval from local authorities. 

Wedding Guidelines for Assam

  • There is a limit of 100 people to attend a wedding.
  • Functions to be held in the open, marriage halls, commercial centres etc. will be allowed to operate at 50% occupancy with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols.
  • There is a daily night curfew in effect from 8 PM to 5 AM.

Wedding Guidelines for Puducherry

  • Only 50 people are allowed to attend a wedding.
  • The daily curfew timing is from 11 PM to 5 AM. 

Wedding Guidelines for Goa

  • A maximum of 50 people are allowed to attend a wedding, with permission from DM/SDM. 

Wedding Guidelines for Jammu & Kashmir

  • Only 50 people are allowed to attend a wedding.
  • The daily curfew timing is from 8 PM to 7 AM.
